Santa Clara’s Annual Swiss Days Celebration!
Santa Clara's Annual Swiss Days Celebration is truly a home-town celebration full of history and fun! Santa Clara celebrated its first Swiss Days in 1990 in tribute to the town's pioneer heritage in which Swiss members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints settled in Santa Clara in 1861.
Swiss Days includes a 5 kilometer run/walk, pancake breakfast, and of course the Swiss Days Parade. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Jacob Hamblin Home on Santa Clara Drive and continues just pass the Town Hall, showcasing everything from Harley Davidson motorcycles, antique cars, the Grand Marshall, local businesses and schools, live animals, and homemade floats. The festival will also include a Red Rock Car Show at Canyon View Park, in addition to continuous entertainment, dog agility demonstrations, heritage displays, pioneer craft demonstrations, family history lectures, children's activities, and more.
The most amount of fun however are the beautifully decorated Swiss cows that line Santa Clara Drive. My new best friend, Delicious Darlin' is going to be in the line up! So, my Mom has decided to have a bit of fun herself and offer the first 5 people who email us Darlin's exact location will receive a popular gift certificate! (Winners will be notified by email, Oct 2, 2013)
Are you willing to have some fun? Here's she is!
